Introducing Remnant: live UXO intelligence, in one place
UXO incidents are reported across the UK every week. Across construction sites, coastlines, farmland, and cities still carrying the legacy of the Second World War. The reports are out there, but they’re scattered, buried in local news, sector updates and clearance notices that most people never see, and that nobody has ever brought together in one place.
Until now.
Today we’re launching Remnant, a live UXO intelligence platform that monitors incidents as they’re reported and visualises them on a single, continuously updated platform.
Why we built it
At Brimstone, we work with UXO data every day. We know how time-consuming it is to piece together a current picture of UXO activity, cross-referencing news sources, sector publications and everything in between. We know that journalists, researchers, planners and mine action professionals face the same challenge.
The information exists. It just hasn’t been in one place. Remnant changes that.

Who it’s for
Remnant is built for the professionals who need accurate, timely UXO intelligence to make decisions:
- Housing developers and housebuilders
- UK environmental and planning consultants
- Tier 1 contractors and infrastructure project teams
- Site investigation and ground investigation contractors
- Insurance underwriters
- Government and military departments
- Journalists, researchers and academics working in the field
- HMA organisations including HALO, MAG, FSD, GICHD and UNMAS
How Remnant works
Remnant draws on a broad range of open source intelligence (OSINT) feeds, continuously monitoring news and incident reporting worldwide. The platform identifies UXO and ERW incidents as they’re reported, maps them geographically, and makes them searchable, filterable and exportable.
At higher tiers, the platform adds AI-assisted analysis tools including geographic clustering, trend analysis, ordnance type breakdowns and pattern recognition, as well as API access for integration into existing workflows.
Subscription tiers
Remnant is available across four tiers, designed to suit different professional needs:
Free — Live UK UXO incident feed and map with a three-month data window, plus basic search and filtering. No cost, no commitment.
Professional — £49/month. Everything in Free, plus a full 24-month data window, saved searches, and the ability to watch up to three sites with email alerts. Descriptive breakdowns by site type, severity, outcome, and ordnance category.

This is just the start
Remnant launches covering the UK, but we’ve built it to grow.
Over time, we’ll be expanding coverage internationally, adding historical data layers, bringing in additional sources and developing new features based on how professionals are using the platform.
